15 – OTDH: Almost a CORBA Board Member

Back in early 2016, I was almost elected to the Chippewa Off Road Bike Association (CORBA) board.  It was a comical night for me, personally, and I think that it makes a pretty good story.

In addition to telling that story, I share a bit about my appreciation for CORBA and the work that they do to build, maintain, and support our trail systems in the area.  There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make this all happen.

13 – OTDH: Hot Weather!

It got toasty and humid here in Eau Claire in July and August.  As it does every single summer.  For some reason, I felt compelled to talk about it a bit on the drive home.  Oh yeah… The A/C went out on my car this summer – so maybe that had something to do with it.

I also set-up my plan to share about the Season of Jason in a future episode.  Ooooh…cliffhanger!

12 – OTDH: More on Biking

I love riding my mountain bike.  A lot.  I’m not great at it, but I sure enjoy it.  So, that’s what’s on my mind in this episode.

I also talk about my appreciation for:

And I tease at a story about an experience I had a couple of years ago ALMOST getting elected to the CORBA board.

11 – OTDH: Buying Local

While it’s true that I enjoy the convenience, efficiency and cost effectiveness of buying the things I need and want online, I am still inclined to spend money with local businesses.  I feel especially compelled to do this when that business offers a valuable service or specific knowledge and expertise that they share as part of the purchase process.

In this case, I specifically talk about recently purchasing new tires for my mountain bike and my preference to buy them at my local bike shop, Eau Claire Bike & Sport.  I know, I know…  It’s not like I spent a fortune more to buy local, and I am not claiming to be any kind of local economic hero.  But I’d rather spend my bike money at Terry’s shop than online when I can.
