08 – Interview with Andy Liebner: United States Ski Pole Company

08 – Interview with Andy Liebner: United States Ski Pole Company

For this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Andy Liebner who is the founder and owner of United States Ski Pole Company where they manufacture state-of-the art cross country ski poles.  Before jumping into the interview, I tell a short story about how this interview came to be and why it reaffirms my belief in the power of the podcasting medium.

I know, I know…it’s April. Why am I releasing a podcast episode about cross country skiing? It’s a fair question, but to be fair to me, we DID get 12+ inches of snow only 2 weeks ago. So I offer this episode as a tip of my hat to Old Man Winter and a final acknowledgement to nordic skiing until next winter.

Enjoy!

06 – Nordic Skiing: Getting Started skating on snow

In this episode, I talk about my experiences getting started Nordic Skiing.  I recorded this episode in my car on the way to a friend’s place in Iowa using the standard issue headphones that come with the iPhone 5s.

During the episode, I discuss the book that really inspired me checking out cross-country skiing in the first place:  Younger Next Year by Chris Crowley and Henry Lodge.

Enjoy!

05 – Minisode: A short re-introduction to the Getting Started Podcast

05 – Minisode: A short re-introduction to the Getting Started Podcast

Okay, okay…it’s been over a year since I “finally got back to recording podcasts” as the title of the November 24, 2014 episode says.  Looking back on that makes me laugh a bit.  Oh, how great my intentions were!  Well, here I am getting started again.

Since it has been so long since recording an episode here, I thought I would do a short “minisode” re-introducing the podcast.  And it is indeed short – just about 7 minutes.  Hopefully this really is the beginning of something that sticks this time.

Thanks for listening!

Note:

This is an interview format podcast I did with my older brother Bob in the spring of 2015.  So, the relative time references are no longer accurate.  However, I enjoyed doing the interview with him and making the episode, so I am keeping this one in the archives.   ( JGP – 01/28/16 )

Do you golf?  If so, do you want to improve your game?  Of course you do!!  All golfers want to improve their game.  And this is the perfect podcast for you to learn about a local Chippewa Valley resource that can help you do just that.

In this episode, I interview my brother Bob Pecor, and we talk about the golf coaching that he will be doing this year through his new Strike The Ball Golf coaching program.  Bob provides a peek into his motivation for starting Strike The Ball Golf and shares details about his coaching philosophy, what he will be offering, and the approach he will be taking with his students.

Bob’s coaching will be offered at Princeton Valley Golf Course in Eau Claire, WI.   Click here to read more details about his coaching program.
